Where can I see Sally? 22/9/02
Jeanine missed seeing her friend on TV: "I was browsing your web site today to see a few pictures of my friend sally morton, who played Tracy In your show, Since I have known her I did not watch one episode of Grange Hill, so I never got the chance to see her acting in it, I was very annoyed when i searched your site for pictures of her, and i saw they had been removed, Do you know where I can see clips of Sally acting in Grange Hill? I really wanted to see how she was at acting. Thank you."
Hi Jeanine! Sally was in Grange Hill from 1997 until 2001. We think she was a great actress and we'll put some footage in the Video Vault if we can. The pictures were probably in the Can You Help? archive - everything here is removed after a year, sorry about that. Still, hope you like the above photo!

Suzanne fits The Bill 22/9/02
Some more slithers of info from Malcolm Neale: "Here are two pieces of GH trivia which you may not know. 1) According to the latest Radio Times, Susan Tully (Suzanne Ross 1981-84) is going to produce six episodes of The Bill. 2) Sara Sugarman (Jessica Samuels 1979) wrote and directed the film Very Annie-Mary which was released in 2000. I found it very enjoyable. It is still available to rent on video." Thanks Malcolm. Seems "The Bill" is a popular hangout for ex-GH stars! Sara once got in touch with us, asking if we'd like to know what she's been doing since GH. Unfortunately we never heard from her again. So Sara, if you're reading this, please write in!
Jodie seeks her Grange Hill classmates 13/9/02
Natalie Tapper, who played Jodie in the 1990s, has stopped by: "I have been looking at your website and just wanted to congratulate you on a job well done, I also found it really informative. As I left Grange Hill in 1995 I lost touch with many of my then colleagues, if you happened to get in touch with any of the cast from 1991- 1995 I just wanted to say hi and that I am doing well. I would also like to thank the person who came to see Godspell for their comments, and I'm glad they enjoyed it, unfortunately they didn't leave their name. Bye for now."
Hi Natalie - lovely to hear from you! Thanks for your kind comments. Unfortunately we don't know much about you former GH colleagues but Fiona Wade (Joanna) is doing another series of ITV's 24:Seven. Amy Phillips (Jessica) has also been busy, having appeared in "Rescue Me" and a film in Canada. Shame we've lost touch with Melanie Joseph (Lauren), Belinda Crane (Lucy) and others - does anyone know where they are? Good luck for the future Natalie, and keep it here!
* If YOU know where any of Natalie's Grange Hil co-stars are now, drop us a line!
More on Joanna please! 13/9/02
Gregory Lawrence has written from Los Angeles: "Can I make one request: Devote MORE space to Fiona Wade!" Hi Gregory. Find out about Fiona Wade in her Star File; I don't know of any fan sites dedicated to Fiona but thanks to the idea!
GH episodes wanted for music 13/9/02
Matt Thomas wants episodes of Grange Hill: "Hello, I am very interested in the very early episodes of Grange Hill in the late 1970s / early 1980s and would it be possible to be put in touch with anyone that would trade any of them for a record/CD/video of their choice? I am particularly keen on the period 1978-1982 and also Tucker's Luck as well. Any contacts/information would be most welcome. Many thanks." Hi Matt. There are several Grange Hill collectors out there and I'm sure someone will be kind enough to provide the shows you're after. If you can help Matt, contact him via GH Online via our CONTACT page.
Grange Hill succumbs to asbestos
Ian Hallyburton has a suggestion: "Would it be possible to see a video clip or still shot of the asbestos scene from the terrorhawks period of Grange Hill?" Hi Ian - can't see why not! We're always after suggestions for our Video Vault so we'll add yours to the wish list!
Contacting Miss Carver 13/9/02

Did Jonah get the sack? 05/9/02
Malcolm Neale thinks a Grange Hill favourite was as naughty off-screen as on: "A few years ago I read somewhere that Lee Sparke who played Jonah was sacked from GH because his disruptive behaviour was causing too much trouble on the set. Do you know if there was any truth in this?" Hi Malcolm. This is the first we've heard - and quite possible, though we didn't know anything beforehand. Perhaps someone knows Lee and could set the record straight? If you can, drop us a line!
Grange Hill's missed years 01/9/02
Vic Grimes asks: "I am wondering if you are able to answer this question. When Grange Hill first began Tuckers year had them in the first years for series 1 & 2 then skipped a year for series 3 and had them as third years. The same happened with Pogo's year, series 3 & 4 then series 5 had them as third years aswell. Then it changed with Zammo's year which was the first one to do all 6 years in a row. Do you know why they did this? The other question is why do they not do some years for example year 8, 10, 11 and 12/13 show but none of the others in 2002 series? Who would deside to miss years out?" Hi Vic - good point. As you say, Series 2 was a continuation of Tucker's first year and likewise Series 4 continued with Pogo & co. as first years. Yet unfortunately we have no idea why this was. Perhaps one of our Grange Hill contacts might know? If so please write in!
The cast of today's GH is bigger than ever, so it would be impractical to include characters from every year in a 20-part series. Indeed, one of Phil Redmond's planned changes is to reduce the size of the cast so viewers can get to know the characters better.
Bronson's sister unmasked! 01/9/02
Matt Mills has been watching an old favourite: "I've nearly finished watching Series 12 - it was great seeing Mr Bronson at his worst, it still seems as hard-hitting to me as it did in 1989 and 1997. (it's actually the first series I really watched). In the episode after Danny is found dead and Mr Bronson tells Mrs McClusky about the stress it has causes his sister, does he mention his mum as well? Bronson's talking so fast I can't make it out- if he is, it must be the only time she's mentioned, I can remember of course the classic scene where Bronson had been pecked by his sister's parrot! I now have a copy of Grange Hill Partners where Bronson's sister appears when Chrissy and Susi are spying on their house, the book says her name is Anne."
Hi Matt! We've been watching Series 12 and you are right - Bronson does mention his mum in the said episode. But his sister never appeared on screen. Interesting that she does appear in the book - though Michael Sheard always thought her name was Edith! Well, those novels do like to change things!
Martin's story 01/9/02
Rebecca Cabell is searching for recent episodes: "Your site looks fabulous and it's been very helpful for us in looking for information about the show. I'm afraid I can't help with any of what you are looking for but I am hoping that you might be able to help us. I am writing from Canada and I work with kids with Asperger's Syndrome. I have heard that Grange Hill has a character (Martin) who was diagnosed with this in last year's season so we are interested in seeing some of these episodes. Do you know which episode that was and do you have any advice on how we might get hold of copies of last season's shows? Thanks very much for your help.
Hi Rebecca. Martin is one of Grange Hill's regulars and his story unfolds over the whole of Series 24 (last year's series). Sadly GH isn't available to buy but many fans record the show; I'm sure someone will kindly provide the episodes you need. If you can supply Rebecca with copies of Series 24 onwards, drop her a line at martin_grangehill@yahoo.ca.
Bronson and Kennedy's past lives 01/9/02
Kerr Avon kicks off September: "I had a look at your CAN YOU HELP section on your site; the reason for the title of this mail whatelse do Mr Kennedy (Jeffrey Kissoon) and Mr Bronson have in common apart from Grange Hill? They both appeared in Gerry Anderson's SPACE 1999 and both played doctors in it. Michael played Dr Darwin King in one of the best episodes, DRAGON'S DOMAIN and met a very grisly end as the food of a deadly alien (Bronson haters will LOVE this one!!) This ep was also the inspiration for the movie "Alien". Mind you Jeffrey Kissoon was luckier as Dr Ben Vincent, a regular in season 2 plus one of GH's parent actors Ziennia Merton was a major character in space 1999 as moonbase controller Sandra Benes. So there you go another BIG GH connection with sci-fi !!"
And guess what Kerr? Space 1999 was made at Elstree Studios (before the BBC took them over)! Thanks for this; we didn't realise Jeffery had any other major roles. As for Michael Sheard, sci-fi is definitely his speciality.
